St. Luke AME Church in Newark is burning its mortgage at a special service on Jan. 19 at 4 p.m.

Bishop Gregory G. M. Ingram, Presiding Prelate, will be the guest preacher.

The church was founded in 1916 where Rev. W. C. McDonald became the first pastor. St. Luke has several programs including the Women’s Fellowship, the Men’s Fellowship, Flag Ministry, Couples Ministry, and the WMS Food Pantry.

St. Luke is hosting its Annual Winter Coat Drive on Jan. 20 and Winter Festival on Feb. 20.
