Actor Mike Wiley stars in the one-man original play Dar He: The Story of Emmett Till at the ArtYard Theater in Frenchtown, NJ

The play tells the true story about Black 14-year-old Till who was murdered in 1955 in Mississippi visiting from Chicago when he allegedly whistled at 21-year-old Carolyn Bryant, who was white. Till was brutally murdered by Bryant's husband Roy and his half-brother J.W. Milam.

Wiley wrote and performs the one-actor, 36-character original play directed by Serena Ebhardt chronicling the murder, trial and confessions of the men accused of Till’s murder.

Spending the last decade fulfilling his mission to bring educational theatre to young audiences and communities across the country, Wiley found few theatrical resources to shine a light on key events and figures in African-American history. To bring these stories to life, he started his own production company. He has also written and starred in plays about the Montgomery Bus Boycott and baseball legend Jackie Robinson.
