New Jersey Utilities Association Excellence in Diversity Scholarship - $1,500 per academic year: NJUA awards the Excellence in Diversity Scholarship to qualified and deserving New Jersey high school seniors who meet the eligibility criteria.The Association will award two (2) four-year scholarships, providing $1,500 per academic year to students selected by the NJUA Scholarship Committee. Hope Chest Scholarship - $1,500 to 5,000: The Hope Chest Scholarship provides financial assistance to minority high school graduates who are residents of New Jersey and are matriculating full-time at a post-secondary educational institution. Go to

Clanseer & Anna Johnson Scholarship - $5,000 each to four students: The Clanseer & Anna Johnson Scholarship Fund is to provide financial assistance to disadvantaged African American students who were born in the United States and reside in New Jersey. Students must have obtained an average of “A” or “B” on subjects relating to the sciences or mathematics, and maintain above average grades overall in whatever curriculum they are pursuing. Go to

Garden State Bar Association Tuition Scholarship - Various amounts:  The GSBA was created to support African-American and other attorneys of color to gain and maintain permanence in the legal profession in the State of New Jersey. New Jersey residents attending law schools outside of New Jersey can apply. Go to

Northern New Jersey Black Nurses Association - Various amounts: The NNJBNA Scholarship honors academic achievement, leadership, and community service. The scholarship also recognizes financial need. Applicants for the scholarship must be African-Americanand a New Jersey resident enrolled in an accredited nursing program full-time. Go to

Newark Bronze Shield Scholarships - $1,000 each to ten students: The Newark Bronze Shields would like to help relieve some of the financial burdens by awarding scholarships to Newark high school seniors. The scholarship awards are funded through charitable contributions from Newark Police Officers and the Newark community. Go to

Newark Housing Authority Scholarship - Various amounts: Newark Housing Authority Scholarship Foundation awards scholarships and financial assistance for related college costs to economically disadvantaged young people. Go to

Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity Mu BoulĂ© Scholars Program - $10,000:  The Mu Boule Foundation invites you to apply to the Mu BoulĂ© Scholars Program to help start you on the road to achieving your educational and career goals. The scholarships are awarded annually on a competitive basis to African-American male New Jersey high school seniors. Students meeting the following criteria are strongly encouraged to apply. Go to

Governor’s Urban Scholarship Program - Various amounts: The Governor’s Urban Scholarship awards are based on information submitted by high school guidance counselors to the Higher
Education Student Assistance Authority (HESAA). Student eligibility is determined by the high schools reporting the top 15.0 percent of their current junior class to HESAA. Go to

National Association of Black Accountants, Northern New Jersey - Various amounts: NABA scholarships are awarded in May of each year at the organization’s annual Scholarship & Awards Dinner. High School and College Students are eligible to apply. Over $10,000 in scholarships have been awarded each year by our chapter. Go to

Central Jersey Alumnae Chapter Delta Sigma Theta, Inc. Minerva Scholarship: Various amounts: The scholarship is awarded to male and female African-American high school senior students only. Applicants must reside in Middlesex, Somerset or Union County. Go to

​Nu Xi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. - Various amounts: The ​Nu Xi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority in Central Jersey awards scholarships including the Maurice Williams Scholarship and the Shawn Marie Stephens Memorial Scholarship. Go to

New Brunswick Alumni chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Scholarships - Various amounts: The chapter awards several scholarships to students living Somerset or Middlesex Counties. Go to

Urban League for Bergen County Scholarship - Various amounts: The Urban League for Bergen County (ULBC) has awarded scholarships that have enabled scores of high school graduates the opportunity to pursue a college education. The Scholarship committee of the ULBC has selected outstanding students who have attended local colleges and universities as well as historically black colleges located in all areas of the nation.
